RETIREMENT IN 2008: Executive Chairman, Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State (October 2008 – May 2011)
ACHIEVEMENTS IN SERVICE:
  1. Supervised the establishment of Treasure FM owned by FRCN in Port Harcourt.
  2. Initiated and supervised the setting-up of Amuludun FM owned by FRCN in Ibadan.
  3. Initiated and supervised the establishment of Choice FM in Ikeja Lagos for FRCN.
  4. Initiated the integration of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) into the operations of Radio Nigeria. Served as the Chairman of the Committee that launched Radio Nigeria into the internet.
  5. Co-edited with Tony Amadi, the book: Radio Nigeria Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow published on the occasion of 50th Anniversary of NBC/FRCN.
  6. In 2003 Initiated and presided over the collation of a set of guidelines for coverage of elections by Radio Nigeria. The Guidelines, revised during the tenure of Mr. Ben Egbuna as Director-General have been published as a pamphlet for use by Radio Nigeria staff.
  7. Served as the Chairman of the Committee that produced the current FRCN Operational Guidelines.
  8. Served as a member of the Federal Government Committee that produced the latest National Policy on Information and was involved in writing the final copy of the policy.
  9. Re-launched Information and Communications Technology, ICT project in BCOS by raising the number of available computers in the Station from six (6) to over 100 units of desktop and laptop computers and training of 200 members of staff to enable them to embrace ICT.
  10. Served on the Committee that established the University of Lagos Radio Station called UNILAG FM.
  11. At the Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State, BCOS, Ibadan, during my tenure as Executive Chairman, we obtained from the Federal Government two licences for the establishment of two radio stations—Ajilete FM in Ogbomoso; Oke-Ogun FM in Oyo North. The two radio stations were formally established in August 2009.
  12. In April 2011 also at BCOS, we obtained another radio licence for the setting up of a radio station in Oyo town.
  13. By May 2011, towards the tail end of my tenure as Executive Chairman, the National Broadcasting Commission, NBC authenticated for BCOS, its dormant TV frequency at Oyo North.
  14. In 2014/2015 served as consultant in the process of setting up of Impact Business Radio IBR 92.5 FM in Ibadan, Oyo State. It is the first of its kind in Nigeria.
  15. Now serving as consultant to Charterhouse Communications Limited for the setting up of another radio station in Ibadan.
AWARDS: Won the Daily Times of Nigeria Award in 1972 as the best graduating student in the department of Mass Communication, University of Lagos. The Award was two-week facility tour of the United Kingdom.Won Daily Times of Nigeria Best Columnist of the Week Award twice in one year as a guest writer on international affairs.

Selected to represent Nigeria at the Commonwealth Institute Fellowship in 1984 (One month tour of various Commonwealth and other institutions in the United Kingdom).

Won several Awards for mutual and peaceful industrial relations from the Radio, Television, Theatre Arts Workers Union, RATTAWU in FRCN, Lagos, FRCN, Ibadan and the Lagos State Chapters of the Union.

Got a plaque of APPRECIATION    from the University of Lagos for the role played by me towards the establishment of the University’s radio station—UNILAG FM.

MARITAL STATUS: Married with children
HOBBIES: Going to the gym; reading; browsing the internet; using gadgets; listening to music; and travelling—I have toured 34 out of the 36 states of the Federal Republic of Nigeria mainly in the course of duty and had visited the United States of America, Britain, France, Bulgaria, Romania, India, China, Ethiopia, Libya, Egypt, Kenya, Angola, Zimbabwe, Bostwana and South Africa among others also in the course of duty.
CURRENT DUTIES:
  • Media consultancy services for establishment of radio stations;
  • Promoting LUNAKIDZ MUSIC artistes in Nigeria;
  • Group Media Adviser to Arco Petrochemical Engineering Company and its three subsidiaries;
  • Working on LIFE AND POSTURE project with Posture International Company.
  • Currently writing a number of books on broadcasting profession.
